Genre perfection!I don't think this type of gritty, London based, gangland crime thriller could have been any better.Constantine and Annie were just awesome to read, in fact the entire cast of characters were. Seriously happy to have 3 more books in the series to listen to Talking of which, Karen Cass' narration was nothing short of brilliant. She's completely bringing this series to life - stunning job.

Jessie Keane has produced a trilogy of books. They are all running along the crime/thriller end of the market with a strong female lead. We have yet to experience what else she has to bring. This book is the follow up from book 1 (Dirty Game) and book 2 (Black Widow). Once again Annie Carter is back in London and trying to run her husbands business. It's now the 70's and her arch enemy's the Delaney's are still around and running the brothel that her good friend Dolly runs. When prostitutes start [...]

There is always a weaker of the set, and I think this was it.However, I don't think it was because of bad story writingI missed Max!I know that there is something to do with Max Carter in playing dead, so the whole time that I was reading this book I just wanted to speed through it so that I could go straight to that one.Still, I love the Annie Carter series and they have got to be one of the favourite sets of books that I own.I think that Annie made a big mistake with Constantine, and how the s [...]

Third book I have read in this series featuring Annie Bailey/Carter,this is also fantastic a must read without question.Have just downloaded the fourth and seemingly final book in the series can't wait to get stuff into it.Most definitely gives Martina Cole a run for her money with story lines and strong engaging characters

I must say I was skeptical to read this book, but when they said she was as good as Martina Cole,I thought wow. That's a comparison.I loved it.I felt like I was in that gang like business. The whole drugs, prostitution business. The whole seduction between Constatine and Annie.Amazing.The sub plot between Redmont and Mira.It was good,I would get more of her novels for sure.

1970,s gangland, 3 prostitutes are murdered & all are connected & Chris who is married to one of them was arrested for their murders. Annie Carter gangland boss is convinced he is innocent & sets out to prove it. This is the third installment of a series. Having not read the previous two didn,t matter.

Not quite the same pace as the previous 2, but I enjoyed reading about the developments in Annie's relationships, the ever increasingly hostile Delaney twins, and the mafia boss Constantine. Looking forward to reading the next in the series!

I'm loving Jessie Keane's Annie Carter series. Found this book hard to put down once I'd started it. So excited about starting the next, and final, book in the series 'Playing Dead'. Is Max really dead? Will life finally settle down for Annie now? I can't wait to find out!
