5 phenomenal stars! This bookThis book is so jam-packed with action, romance, ANGST and passion that I don't even know where to start. Seriously! This is my favorite book in the series to date!Anything But Mine is the story of Autry Holton and Stanton Reed. They were casually seeing each other at first until real feeling started to develop between them. Stanton, who happens to be the town sheriff, dumps Autry not knowing she was pregnant. On top of being dumped and being pregnant, Autry is also d [...]

Originally read in 2013, re-read in 2016. Book 4 in the Hearts of the South Series. I loved Stanton and Autry’s story. With Anything But Mine, I started out immediately on the edge of my seat with Autry in all kinds of trouble. She was unpopular over a case she was defending, nursing a broken heart, keeping a big secret and she had a stalker. I really felt for Autry and her impossible situation. It was sickening to see how people treated her. Stan’s protective nature came out when he realize [...]

For my fellow "safety gang" this book is safe: No cheating/no sex with OW/OM, Hero is not a manwhoreI did not liked the Hero at the beginning and it took me a long time to warm up to himIt kind of ruined the experience for me! I like my Heroes to be on the possessive side and going after the heroine with their tooth and nails, but this did not happened here! Alas, the level of emotions that played in the plot was one that just sucked you in and you root for the heroine to have her HEA! I would h [...]

H has serious commitment issues. He has children from his first marriage that ended because he was committed to his job (former FBI, now cop.) h is a prosecutor and H/h were in a relationship. She refused to recuse herself from a case involving a serial killer and H/h broke up and town is against her. h discovers she is pregnant. H has a hard time with the news at first - but he discovers he loves h and anticipates the birth of the child. 3.5 stars

Available on ScribD at time of readingNo words. This book had everything that kept me riveted from page 1 until the end. Before you read this one, and if you intend to read the Hearts of the South series out of order like I did, I strongly suggest you at least read Hold On To Me because what makes the previous book’s suspense good will be diminished if you read this one first. Now, about this book. I hate pregnancy tropes in most books, but I liked it here because the heroine Autry was adamant [...]

The author does her research and I love her for it. She also excels at writing emotion into the story.I really enjoyed the romance between Stanton and Autry. It seemed at times like their motivations changed to suspend the story but I was very pleased with their connection. If you plan to read Hold On To Me, I suggest reading it before this book. The serial killer from the previous book as well as some other aspects of the investigation are a big part of this story and would be spoiled if you rea [...]

Wow this was so wonderful. It's very emotional, great suspense in this series too. And some hot sex! Lol. I also like that the bad guy issues are carrying over to each book. It's so unlikely that there would be a new bad guy every book in a little town like this. It sort of carries over and evolves, there's talk of a trial, etc. Seems more realistic that way.It was awesome!!

This series just gets better and better!! I love that we are still getting major plots with past couplesybe Cait and Tick are the equivalent of Virgin River's Mel and Jack, just without all the women's health advice. I felt so bad for them in the epilogue. I hope Winfree continues their story. This book was action-packedjust when you think you've reached the climax of the novel, another problem crops up and we're heading toward another climax. I like that the author doesn't draw all the problems [...]

The fourth book in Linda Winfree's Hearts of the South series. Linda Winfree has the ability to write very realistic and flawed characters and make you fall in love with them. Autry Holton is the lawyer for an accused serial killer. She is also pregnant with Sheriff Stanton Reed's baby. Stanton broke up with her several months earlier but still has feelings that he is not willing to admit he has. Meanwhile, Autry is receiving threatening notes and Stanton makes it his business to keep her safe. [...]

This book would have been a 5 for me if it didn't have the 'does he/she or doesn't he/she' issue so much. I got tired of both main characters wondering if the other cared for them as much as they cared for the other. It actually started rading like one of the daytime soap operas that you watch on TV. The best thing about the book was that just when I thought I had read the climax of the story, another one came along. The secondary characters were from a previous book and it tied up some loose en [...]

My most frequent Linda Winfree re-read. Lady lawyer, sheriff hero, serial murderer, bombs, uh oh pregnancy, tragedy and so much more in a small southern town. If you like an occasional touch of over the top melodrama in an eminently readable format, this is a good go to story.

I cried, and I don't normally cry at books. This is definitely one of the high-points of the series in my opinion, even if it is on the sad side at times. I wanted to hate Tick in this book, but I do understand why he was the way that he was toward Stanton.

I love this woman's work. Without fail she makes me cry and laugh, and I can never forget her characters after I finish.

4th in the author's 'heart of the south' series. hero is a sheriff and heroine, an attorney defending a killer, who is pregnant with sheriff's baby but knows he doesn't want her.

A 2010 reread. another hreat entry in the series. Winfree doesn't back away from the heartache, that's for sure. She always delivers an emotional kick in the gut.
