This was a story of finding love in the midst of grief and guilt and taking chances to find a happy ever after.Good Girl Mia lost her brother and she is suffering from severe guilt as his body rejected the kidney she donated. Mia is a responsible, play it safe type of girl. She meet Dangerous Derek while he is on tour with his band. They have an instant connection and Derek invites her to go on tour with him. Mia makes an out of character decision to live in the moment and go on an adventure.I l [...]

LOVED IT! I was nervous because book 1 hit me so hard, but book 2 was just as fabulous. I adore romance series that have connected but different main characters from book to book, and this did that in an excellent way. Cam and Jake were "there" throughout this entire book, but Mia fully had the story as well. It was swoon-worthy and I inhaled it. Excellent contemporary, sexy romance - NOTE: this one is a LOT more adult in a sexual way than book 1, so not appropriate for school libraries (book 1 [...]

I'm thrilled to finally be able to share Mia and Derek with the world. Their heart broken souls have called out to each other for healing and forgiveness. I hope that all of you who take a chance on reading this novel find words that make you feel like you've shared their journey with them. Happy Reading!

Ms. Evans has the wonderful ability to draw you into the story from the very first page. Good Girl Mia is certain she knows her path in life but the second Derek walks onto the scene both Mia and the reader know that there are so many more, exciting things in store. The relationship that develops between Mia and Derek is sweet, genuine, heartwarming and infused with just the right amount of heat so that the slow-burn builds in a way that you know is definitely going to pay off. Without giving to [...]

"They were fireflies colliding in the sky. Beautiful and brilliant." This is the beginning of the journey that is Mia and Derek. L. J. Evans continues to guide her characters journeys with lyrics. After all, "sometimes words have a much more lasting impact on you than anything that anyone ever does." The path that is Mia and Derek is lit by lyrics that have you listening to the playlist on repeat as you read. You'll stop and go back and listen to the words of the great philosopher and it only en [...]

I loved this book just as much as the author’s debut novel! This story revolves around Derek and Mia’s young love, but it has so many other layers that bring more depth to the story. I enjoyed following the young couple as their relationship developed, but what I loved even more was how their relationship led to individual self discovery. So true to real life! I really liked how the author involved so many characters from her first novel; it helped me connect to the characters and story righ [...]

I'm a picky reader. I want a story I can feel. I want to be so wrapped up by the characters emotions they feel like my own. I want a book that breaks my heart to pieces then puts it all back together again and Mia and Derek's story did all of that and more. So many books out there skip over how harsh life can be, they focus on just the love and sex. Which I get, it's an escape. I'm so thankful Ms. Evans doesn't do that though! Her beautiful way with words just floats off the page and straight to [...]

Mia is a good girl who doesn't make waves, so after her brother dies rejecting her kidney, she's been living with severe guilt ever since, although she doesn't let anyone know that. Now four years later, she's back home from college, acting like she has everything together, in order to be there for everyone else. She's set to take over the family car dealership, while making sure she never makes her mother cry again, but is still running from the guilt eating her alive. Derek has just signed wit [...]

My Life As A Pop Album💚I purchased this book on to read. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 My Life As A Pop Album by L. J. Evans. After reading My Life As A Country Album, I was excited to know more! (See my previous review for details). In this book, we get to know Mia's story of Jake and Cam and life after from her point of view. I was excited and intrigued. In the first book we only got glimpses of Mia as the little sister. Now Mia is all grown up and on her way to the biggest [...]

I read this book because I read the one before it and it broke my heart. This book is not as heart breaking but more of an enlightening of a character. I’m really glad that the author wrote Mia’s story because I was really curious about how all of the characters dealt with the last book’s events. It’s a standalone story, you don’t have to read the other book but it totally makes you even more emotional when you read about the “history”. This book was more about finding the real you [...]

This story. It brought the reader along on a wonderful journey and love story that you don’t want to miss. The character development was phenomenal. I didn’t think it was possible, but I enjoyed this book even more than the first book in the series (which I loved). If you are looking for an easy read that will tug at your heartstrings, then READ THIS BOOK!

This was a visceral book about an engrossing romance. It is one brimming with tragedy, emotion and heartache but it certainly has a lot we can learn from! Thank you LJ for crafting such an intricate story.

This was just as touchingly written as the first novel ♡ I absolutely loved that Ms. Evans took us back to these amazing characters and gave us another incredible tale. I literally cried for the first little bit as we were reminded of the heartbreaking pieces of book one. Mia and Derek are just as breathtaking, just as broken and just as made for each other as Jake and Cami ♡♡♡ I loved this story as yet again my heart was gladdened by all the mess and heartache that love can heal. These [...]

This book. I can't even find the right words to say how much I loved it (maybe even a bit more than book 1). It was beautifully written and I absolutely loved Derek and Mia. Their story was heartbreaking, beautiful and so touching. I love that the story felt real. This is an amazing and inspiring story. A story of guilt, love, self forgiveness and second chances. **received an advanced copy**

*5 Little Bird Stars *After the tragedy that struck Mia's family, she was left with a gaping hole in her heart filled with guilt and regret. Guilty because she has failed, regret because she should be the one to take his place. But, Good Girl Mia needed to smile and be strong, so she put up a front and became a support pillar for her family even though she was struggling with the weight of it all. "I was just the invisible girl from nowhere who, like always, helped from the shadows."Where the fi [...]
