This really was a fun fun story. This is Book 2 in The Clash of The Tartan series by Anna Markland. I have always enjoyed all her stories. They are always filled with a wonderful plot intrigue that keeps you hooked. Here we have Darroch MacKeegan and Isabel MacRain who have both been jilted at the altar. This was to have been a marriage Alliance to form some type of peace between the two feuding clans. Each clan wants vengence for the humiliation received, but Fate has its own way of remedying th [...]

Meant for each other! 'Kilted at the Altar' is another quick and fun Scottish adventure, written by Anna Markland! This talented lady has done her magic again! I'm never disappointed with her! Her 1st novella, in this wonderful series 'Clash of the Tartans', was a real delight to read. This time, we follow Darroch and Isabel's journey along with Kyla, his daughter. Two clans, MacKeegans and MacRains are feuding and they need a marriage of convenience to bring back peace and harmony. Darroch and [...]

❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋Second in the series, but a stand-alone book . Really enjoyable read .Two young people , betrothed, turn up to their wedding only to find the other not in attendance. Did he jilt her or did she jilt him , and why , who’s behind the confusion, and can it be sorted out without blood being shed from either of the rival clans .This is such an addictive read , I loved Darroch’s character and his little girl Kyla stole my heart from the beginning. Isabel stuck me at [...]

This is a delightful story of two people, Isabel and Darroch, who as members of two rival clans are betrothed and expected to be married. But even the “best laid plans”, as the saying goes, can go awry. The wedding is where the plot goes off the rails onto an entertaining and intrigue filled path that is just great fun for a Scottish historical romance. Isabel and Dorroch each plot their own course of action ofter the “ wedding “ and the two are faced with obstacles of their own, danger [...]

I have always loved Anna Markland’s books because of the way she writes about life, frustration, the importance of forgiveness and learning how to analyze a situation before taking action. She fills her stories with so many “teachable moments” and with so much real emotion that you can easily understand and identify with her characters. She always provides a touch of humor to balance out any mystery and drama in the story and hopefully invoke insight. There are always life lessons one can [...]

Isabel MacRain is furious about being left at the altar, but even more she is worried about her stepmother's ideas. Her uncle persuades her to lie low until they can find a solution. Darroch MacKeegan has been humiliated in front of his clan. He must also now go and disappoint the person who means the most to him. The insult cannot go unavenged. Our hero has a very difficult relationship with his father, the Laird because of his stubbornness. Our heroine is being pushed further away from her fat [...]

Truly an enjoyable story. Darroch MacKeegan vows revenge when his intended bride, Isabel MacRain, fails to show up for a marriage arranged to settle the long feud between their clans. Isabel’s father lays waste to MacKeegan lands in retaliation for Darroch jilting his daughter. Darroch and Isabel both have to overcome what they have been lead to believe if they want to make a life together. This was a very enjoyable story to read and I really loved the characters. Anna Markland made me feel th [...]

Manipulated by a very Evil Stepmother, Isabel's betrothed does not appear for their wedding. Angry, hurt and afraid of what is to come, she leaves. Her "jilted" betrothed just happens to appear on the same island. They humorously work through the lies and work together. When you are fated to be together, nothing will keep you apart. Proven in this wonderfully written book in the series.

KiltedThis is a true Scots romance. I was completely absorbed by the plot. I love books that have that 'magic' at the starting line. The blurb about the book can draw you in, but the story takes you on the ride. There is mild sensuality if that offends a reader. READ it!
