(I've read a newer edition, not sure which though, just to keep that in mind.)Great intro into Social Psychology! I've read it out of interest, not because I had to (okay, to be fair, the topic is related to my work) and although it took me a while to read, I really enjoyed it to the end. Like with every science book you can't take everything at face value. Not all studies mentioned and cited are well done and perfectly convincing, but all in all it gives a very good overview about the field of [...]

An excellent book for formulating Hypotheses and Theories dealing from mood swings to aggression, relationships, majority and minority influence, although for this theory I felt it was floored and the two terms need to be re-catorgorised into one.The majority of case studies are conducted in the United States, so from my point of view, certain characteristics and mannerisms would not apply to my country, having said that 90% of individual behaviour is uniform across most countries of the world. Required reading, a required course. Overall you are presented with many of the theories psychology student would have already learned and become familiar with but also presented the specifics of how it relates to a newer branch. Of course, you have copious quotes from other material, studies and psychologists, but I found the authors commentary still too directed towards certain majority populations. Instead of being objective and merely presenting information, there was more of what seemed per [...]

Excellent textbook. Super easy to read, very easy to study from. Almost an informal style. Perhaps a bit too much of repetition, but that saves you a lot of time as you barely have to study afterwards! ;)

Probably the first time since my last year in college many years ago that I bought a textbook. Still, I LOVE the content and the ideas here. Major food for thought about how people and societies function. Much recommend. There is also an audiobook version.

I'll be honest, I remember so little about this textbook. I have neither complaints nor compliments to give it it, and I'm not sure that its complete lack of memorability in either direction speaks wonders about it. It DID teach me that social psychology is not at all for me, so that was good.

Great introduction to & overview of the extensive research literature in social psychology. Explores both classic/historical and contemporary research findings that tell us the importance of other people and other situational & contextual factors on our behavior, attitudes & perceptions.

This would have been better had they not been repetitive in the studies they used. Some variation would have done wonders.

A lot of great information, but at times, it could have been presented in a better format. Overall, a very good textbook.

Przeczytałam tą książkę na studiach, żeby zdać egzamin. Cóż książka interesująca i na temat. Tylko że format pozwala tylko na czytanie jej w czytelni lub w domu.
