This book is old. The SCC-hadn't-ruled-on-Vriend-yet old. But it's a good look at LGBT legal activism in Canada from the 70s to the early Charter period.I like how it stresses the differences in approaches/ideology re: lesbian feminism and gay liberation. Also how it explains that early gay activists were fully aware of the limitations of formal equality based approaches but that the emphasis on formal equality was a strategy for growing the movement.
