Timeshaft (Stewart Bint) is a brilliant time travel novel which fully explores the causal loop. Time travel mechanics and paradoxes are rife in Timeshaft with intelligent characters who get us tangled in a spiderweb of predestination!I discuss the time travel aspects more fully on my time travel blog in my more detailed review of Timeshaft on my time travel blog.I was really pleased that Timeshaft has a solid scientific mechanism for time travel. It’s not wholly transparent but we get a pretty [...]

I am really not a Sci-Fi fan, but this book's author, Stewart Bint, sparked my interest in his book, "Timeshaft" at a FB party, months ago. "Timeshaft is an intelligent environmental time traveler Sci-Fi novel. Though Timeshaft begins like a typical Sci-Fi novel it quickly changes pace and plot. The book begins when Lloyd Bradman find out that his creation, the Macdonnell Conversion Plant, suffered a malfunction. The computer security systems failed or better failed to recognize the imminent dan [...]

At first I wasn't sure how and if the different characters the book kept jumping too, were all connected, but it soon became clear that they were. Time travelling is fascinating and I found myself unable to put this book down once they started travelling to different time zones. I loved the way the author's imagination took us to a future that was both terrifying and fascinating and his theory of how and if the world would end.An interesting read for the layman who doesn't really understand tech [...]

I like a time travel novel as much as I love watching the Back to the Future series in one sitting - A whole lot. Time travel stories offer so many possibilities. With endless character story-lines that weave delicately into one another, readers are transported from the very beginning of time, to the very end of the world.Timeshaft is one of these stories.Read my review here: gcmacquarie.weebly/reviews

As technology advances mankind seems a button press away from wiping itself out. The shadowy organisation of WorldSave and their top operative, the enigmatic Ashday's Child, prevent catastrophe on a regular basis because they have access to the Timeshaft, which enables them to go to any point in time and stop events before they can cause disaster. However, after a routine training mission hits problems, Ashday's Child must save not only himself and his companions but the fabric of time itself. One of the reasons that I’m a big fan of time travel stories is that each one has to take a hard look at free will, destiny, and predetermination. Timeshaft is no exception. These ideas are dealt a heavy hand in this story. “A” leads to “B,” leads to “C,” is common in linear storytelling, but Bint shoehorns in steps “G,” and “W” for good measure. The stories and timelines weave on each other, and there is some confusion, as with most stories in this genre, but by the end of [...]

I am a fan of sci-fi pulp fiction and used to buy the old books at second hand shops. But, I fell off that hobby, so when I found Timeshaft I got to re-live my lost love of the old books, and be transported to a retro-style of sci-fi that I don't see as much anymore. The dialogue of the characters is really enjoyable, I just like the way they talk and how they interact. The author has a great way of explaining complicated, long distant in the future technologies. He does it so well that you full [...]

Timeshaft was a rollercoaster voyage through time, with a thousand twists and turns I never saw coming! As well as being incredibly well written, Timeshaft is intelligent and thought-provoking. It’s an admirable skill to write a science fiction book packed with action which is still able to stun the reader and trap them in a whirlwind of mind-boggling time paradoxes. On numerous occasions I had to stop reading and unravel the clever interwoven strands of the story, just so it made sense in my [...]

A Rollercoaster ride through timeTo use a British term, Stewart Bint has delivered his readers "a cracking good yarn". The story rockets (literally!) from future Earth to the 17th century and even to the end of our planet itself. Stewart never bewildered his readers with "technobabble", rather he sweeps us up in a thrilling adventure with enough twists to keep the most sleuths like reader guessing. I'm a huge fan of the time travel sub sci first gen and Stewart has provided one of the best you w [...]

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of the book from the author, in exchange for an honest review. The rating is not a reflection of the quality of written work, more so on my personal experience when reading the book.An interesting read, that manages to blend so many plot lines, characters and environmental issues together expertly. The plot has a similar feel to Michael Crichton's 'Timeline', so if you loved that book, then you will love this book.To read full review, please click here

The paradoxes alone are enough to keep your full attention. This book is expertly written and reads so quickly you wonder how it is over so fast. Stewart Hint creates a fantastic journey for us and introduces us to a great many possible futures, if only we don't destroy ourselves first.
