We did not actually pick this book it was passed to us at a party, so in a way, it picked us.It is a good story and keeps a great pace. I think it could have used a lot of editing some of the conversation felt either forced or simply unnatural. Also, (I live in Denver, so maybe I am being too harsh) there seems to be a lot of odd and extraneous detail about Denver from a character who just got into town. The story just didn't feel completely realistic in these regards.Anyway, I did enjoy the boo [...]

I ordered this book as a paperback, and I'm so glad I did. The first thing that drew me in was the cover, it imparted a feeling for me and I was instantly curious about the story itself. I enjoy reading autobiographies mainly, I can't even stomach the sight of another teenage vampire/werewolf or 50 shades knockoffs. Why the hell are grown adults reading YA anyway? So, I read the first 6 chapters as a sample waiting for the book to arrive. Refreshing. It's like the author knew my craving for a re [...]

Awesome read! I dig Denver and this book makes me love it even more. Its real and speaks of the current culture of "weed" in honest and intriguing ways. There is such a weave of poetic, creative writing mixed up with torrential blunt force life that it kept pulling me deeper and deeper into things I had never truly thought about.I am from Colorado. I have grown up hearing about and experiencing the 30 miles of crazy that is Colfax avenue and this book captures so much more than my reality or ima [...]

Such an easy read and what a compelling story! Great for anyone who has lived in the Denver area and also great for anyone who had a friend struggling with drug addiction. Really though, it's a book for anyone: Joe's dialogue and descriptions are easy to follow. The seemingly unrequited love story sucks you in and keeps you there. Really recommend this to anyone!
