*3.5 stars*Super cute, fluffy Cardeno C. story with a time-travel twist. So far, it's one of my favorite novellas from this author.I enjoyed this little number a great deal, so much that I was willing to overlook that whiplash-speed GFY. If you don't mind your MCs going from "straight" to "gay," and I mean on-your-knees-begging-for-cock gay, then this is the story for you! I only let it bother me a little, then I was consumed by the fluffy and I just accepted the story for what it was. Which is, [...]

What can I say its Cardeno C and there's not much of his I don't like so once again I wasn't too worried. Second pre sleep read last night and again short sweet and satisfying. Has a touch of " A Christmas Carol" feel to it even though this has nothing to do with Christmas. A lesson in not seeing whats in front of your face all along with a nice touch of fantasy thrown in. Very enjoyable but pretty short so what I call snack size. Yes I liked it!

On the night of his latest relationship failure, Ethan Baker is visited by his "guide", to visit places in time, and to understand that what he has been looking for, is already there in form of his best friend, Jude Harrison.----I have only one experience with Cardeno C's story before, and the only thing I could remember was how I didn't like the too sugary style. However, I got assurance from a couple of people that this one is less sugary. So, I decided to give it a try. I like the "your best [...]

Gifted by my lovely friend BelenI loved this! This is a short story about Ethan. Oblivious Ethan.Ethan is a famous actor who is unsatisfied with his life. His relationships end before they get serious and the only time he feels happy is when he is with his best friend, Jude.Ethan is driving his car to Jude’s house when he almost hits a woman in the middle of the road. This woman tells him to buckle up because they are going to make a trip to the past. This woman, called Ginger by Ethan because [...]

Is there anyone more oblvious to both himself and his surroundings than Ethan? I think not. He's totes adorbs though. I liked this story and could have read a much longer one about him and Jude. I liked seeing the progression of their romance from the bit of time travel that happened as well but it could have worked just as well without the PNR angle. Jude you are, in fact, the most patient person in all the world. I would almost say that you deserve better but Ethan is the perfect person for yo [...]

The premise of this story is like the first one third of Dickens' Christmas Carol. You know, the Ghost of Christmas Past part. Yet the way the author uses the setting-Hollywood actor and his best friend who also a son of senior producer-is quite nice. (view spoiler)[But, there's a bit difference from the ghost of Christmas Past. Here, the MC get to see some "behind the screen" events that he was not aware of at that time. As a result, he learns much more about his own life and how his best frien [...]

This was only the second story I've read by this author and I'm left with one burning question? Why? I seriously need to bump some of this author's books up on my TBR list. I really enjoyed this story and McFarland's Farm which was the other Cardeno C book that I read. This was a seriously good short story. I liked the pace the author set, I enjoyed the friends to lover aspect of it, My only issueof course I would have liked it to be longer so that there was more on page time between Ethan and J [...]

Short, but sweet and really well done, this friends to lovers novella hit my sweet spot early on. Wonderfully narrated by John Solo, I enjoyed going on the journey with Ethan, who learns just how much his best friend Jude has always been there for him. John Solo does such a great job narrating both the male and female character voices of the story.I loved the byplay between Ethan and Ginger as Ethan goes through the pivotal moments of his past in order to open his eyes to his future. But mostly, [...]

I love pretty much everything that I've read from Cardeno C, but this short 68-page book left me with mixed feelings.I loved the Dickens "Ghost of Christmas Past" style time travel chapters during the first half of the story, where Ethan learns how Jude was not only responsible for him even having an acting career to begin with, but also what Jude has sacrificed and felt for him over the years. However, once Ethan finally realizes and divulges his feelings for Jude, then the story just became rot [...]

When Cardeno C contacted the blog looking for reviews I jumped at the chance. With so many great authors and books out there, there is always some I've heard of but never got round to trying, and Cardeno C was one of those authors for me. Maybe one of the reasons I hadn't gotten to her books yet is because famous MCs are not a favourite of mine. Actors, singers, the wealthy, celebrities those blurbs don't make me want to pick up the book. That's not to say I've not enjoyed books with these chara [...]

In a variation on the theme of the Christmas Grinch, this story is about the path to realization of what is really important for a self-absorbed actor who learns to see his best friend in a somewhat different light. This is achieved with the help of ‘situations past’, brought to life by a mysterious temporal guide who clearly knows what is good for Ethan far before he realizes it. I loved the humor with which Ethan tells his story and the change in mood from totally flippant and somewhat ann [...]

*2.5 stars* - Narrator: John SoloThis story didn't work for me at all. I didn't have time to really connect with the Ethan and Jude.Ethan was oblivious for his true feelings for hisforever friend Jude. Wasting his life by having these relationships with women that had no meaning at all.One day, this woman aka spirit takes him back to his past and shows Ethan how much Jade has always meant to him. When Ethan finally got his head out of his ass, his conversations with Jude were just too much. But no [...]

I think that sometimes I really take my reading way too seriously. I like social justice, coming-out, and detective M/M romance, all with serious undertones, and, of course, a HEA. I overlooked Places in Time for a long time, as it only had one of my likes—the HEA. But who cares? It’s fun and a great audio to listen to; I smiled the whole way through. The story has the feel of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, but only the feel. There are many, many differences, most importantly is that [...]

I quite liked this fluffalicious novella. I read the 2nd edition of this book.Ethan is a successful movie star, but can't seem to keep a girlfriend. When his latest girl breaks up with him, his first call is to his best friend Jude.Only, on the drive to Jude's house, Ethan is joined by what could be termed the Ghost Of Christmas Past, who takes him to revisit key moments of his life, and makes him see them in a new light. This is a well written friends to lovers story, in which one of the MCs fin [...]

Oh so sweet a great friends to lovers themed story! Jude was practically a Saint, 20 years is a long time to be in love and so dedicated and for it to be unrequited.I enjoyed Ethan's trip with Ginger, the 'ghost of Christmas Past' although, I don't think that's what she would call herself! ;)

    21. Jewel on said:

Not a bad story, though definitely not original. It's sort of a ghost of Christmas past sort of gig. Ethan is taken back to some key moments in his life by a ginger tour guide, if you will, so he can finally see what has been right in front of his for the past 22 years.
