A special thank you to MIRA and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Elizabeth Heiterreturns with her third installment in The Profilerseries (nicely researched) with SEIZED -Evelyn Baine, profiler for the FBI – finds herself in one of the most dangerous situations yet, with what appeared to be "survivalist cult" holed up in the mountains—turns deadly.Evelyn is sharpand she knows how to think like a killer – whether a serial killer, arsonists, bomb-maker, child abductor o [...]

Find this and other Reviews at InToriLexActual Rating 2.5 StarsThis was definitely an entertaining read, unfortunately there wasn't enough character development and engagement to make me care about Evelyn and the important people in her life. Although this is part of a series I read it as a stand alone, which the author suggests is fine. There was plenty of action and mystery surrounding the plot. Evelyn is a brilliant FBI profiler, but in this book she's distracted and unsure of herself most of [...]

This is book three in The Profiler series, and it finds Evelyn unusually listless and adrift. After solving the one case her entire life revolved around, the kidnapping and murder of her best friend, in book two, she now finds herself at a loss and without a clear purpose. Even Evelyn's relationship with Kyle is suffering. After finally giving in and accepting his vacation invitation and enjoying just being with him, she now seems to be pulling away. As a form of punishment for refusing to follo [...]

This is a very entertaining installment in the Profiler series. In this one Evelyn finds herself in a hostage situation at a survivalist compound. The first half is about her time as a hostage and the second half is about her race to find her captor before he carries out his overall agenda.I found both equally exciting. Evelyn is a very relatable character, she makes mistakes, is awkward at times in social situations but is a top knotch profiler. Watching her unravel the clues to solve the case [...]

Elizabeth Heiter gets better and better with each book. This book reaches out and grabs you from page one. Evelyn Baine, an FBI profiler, begins a rather benign investigation, but is kidnapped. The story is told so you see everything through the eyes of the profiler, Evelyn. What is real, what is not? Who can you trust? This is a hard one to put down. Just when you think you have it figured out, there is another twist and off you go in another direction. You live through the nightmare with her l [...]

She's back. Well, sort of. Evelyn spent almost two decades devoting all of her time to discovering what happened to her childhood best friend, Cassie, and now she's accomplished that goal. Cassie is finally at peace and the murderer has paid for his crimes. But without that focus, she's not really sure who she is now, because solving that case consumed her whole life and she isn't sure how to just be Evelyn. Her personal life, with HRT agent, Kyle, is going well and they even went on vacation to [...]

Elizabeth Heiter gives us yet another intense reading experience in Seized. I love the chemistry that is created by Evelyn Baine with whomever she encounters. There are so many relationships that are developed in this book which cause her to question her skills as a profiler. With multiple twists and turns and relationships to question, this book pulled me in on page one and I couldn't put it down once I started (except to watch a KU basketball game). I felt like I knew the characters (especiall [...]

This ending was just a tad bit rushed, but still good all the same. So good though, keeps you guessing for a majority of the book. One of the best things about this series (besides the fact that it's like reading an episode of Criminal Minds) is these books stand alone pretty well. You don't necessarily have to read them in order to get the whole story. Hopefully she writes more, but doesn't over do it.

WOW, hold on to your hats. This is a fast moving story. Elizabeth Heiter has once again given the reader a wild ride, that keeps you turning the pages till the end . Evelyn is a wonderful character and you just want to root her on. Great plot and very intense which only spurs your interest for the next book in the series. If I wasn't a fan before this book would have nailed that down. Make sure you have time to sit and read because you won't want to put it down once you start.

Seized by Elizabeth HeiterIf you want a tense, electrifying read, this is the book to read! Elizabeth has penned a story of non- stop intrigue and suspense from start to finish. How can Evelyn Baine, a profiler who seems to have lost her desire to do her job find it to help stop homegrown terrorists from bombing targets in the U.S? It is a nail biting read from the very first to the very last page. It will leave you wanting more stories from Elizabeth on the profilers.

I've really looked forward to the opportunity to read a book by this author, and was very pleased, when Harlequin sent a copy of it to me via NetGalley. Even though this is a book three in a series, it didn't take away from the story, that is easy to be read as a standalone book. The story is a fascinating look into the professional life of the FBI profiler. In a rather dark and sinister tone, the world of no mercy, constantly overworked agents are trying to live without any human errors, that co [...]

Elizabeth Heiter's books are getting better and better! I loved The Hunted, Vanished was good too but Seized?? Oh man! I started reading this last night, thinking I would just get about 10 percent in and find a good stopping place. NO SUCH THING. It just keeps going, the action building so much I could hardly breathe. I made myself put the book down at midnight, but then picked it right back up as soon as I awoke. I'm really liking getting to know FBI profiler Evelyn Baine. She's a complicated c [...]

Although I enjoyed this book, it is probably my least favorite in this series. For some reason, the character of Evelyn was more annoying than she needed to be. In the previous books, Evelyn was such a strong character and this time she seemed sporadic, doubting herself at every turn but then ignoring orders from her bosses. What this book does have going for it is the plot and execution of it. There is a lot going on and the book moves pretty fast. I will continue to read this series. I look fo [...]

Love this series! Loved the thrilling rollar coaster of a ride the author takes you on from the first page. This book was not my favorite of the series only because there was not alot of profiling but more of Evelyn being locked away in a compound. A great thrilling book and still another great book in the series.

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Yet again Elizabeth has Evelyn Baine as a strong yet flawed female heroine involved in finding and putting away those who have done her and the country wrong. A suspenseful and intriguing storyline that holds you captivated until you are done reading the book. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

Another great story in the series. Still not as much development on Evelyn and Kyle's relationship but I did enjoy the investigation side of the story. I hope the author decides to write another book to this series.

Not really believable small spoiler over a week in a cult compound they would not let her continue working the case. Or dragging her all over the country. I do love Mac.

What is it about: An FBI profiler is taken hostage by a cult of survivalists, before she goes on the hunt for the leader and the threat he presents. What else is it about: This one’s complicated – as it’s the third book in the series, Evelyn is experience some self-doubts and it is in part her trying to figure herself out now that book 2 is over. But that said, I don’t think you need to know much more than what this book tells you about book 2. The important part is the emotional impact i [...]

I understand this is the 3rd book in a series, but I had no problem enjoying it as a stand alone story. The suspense and action moved at a good pace and the heroine, Evelyn, was an intriguing character. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to any reader of suspense.

Reading this installment of Heiter's Profiler series is a lesson in writing: you may have an extremely compelling story line but if you tell the reader about that story line instead of showing the reader all of the cool twists and reveals, and then passport most of the character development, well, the compelling story line is shot all to hell. The first three chapters of the novel are golden. There is enough action, dialogue and set-up to speed the reader along through the back story and get one [...]

Seized, by Elizabeth Heiter, begins with BAU agent within the FBI Evelyn Baine questioning her place and purpose as a Profiler, since solving the case of her missing childhood best friend, Cassie. I had read Ms. Heiter's other book Vanished and it was pretty good but this book really fell flat. The worst part of the book is the main character, Evelyn Baine. I just couldn't believe that a FBI profiler had so many issues and was more interested in herself than the case the was on. Evelyn was not a well developed character and you would think after two previous books she would have learned from her mistakes and grown up. Not so. The author also had Evelyn in completely unbelievable situation [...]

Action and suspense.Evelyn Baine, an FBI profiler, expected her interview with a Montana prisoner to yield little information. Another great addition to the Profiler series. Evelyn is being punished by her boss and is sent to interview a bombing suspect. While there, Evelyn is met by a local FBI agent that is desperate for someone to believe her about a group of survivalists that she thinks could be terrorists. Once they get to the compound they are taken and kept until someone comes to their rescue. This is the start of the events that take place.
