*4.75 STARS* I was totally smitten with this book, the characters… and the author! What an excellent first Novel… Kate Pavelle you kept me up all night but it was totally worth it. Fabulous read!Fascinating reading, compelling and the characters just intrigued me, I found myself slowing down on my reading because I just wanted to soak it all up, absorb each and every page… at times it is beautiful, poignant, plus a lot contradictions and emotional turmoil,  but it’s not just about the r [...]

On his first attempt he gets sixty dollars and a cell phone and is surprised to get a text off the phones owner requesting the return of the phone, and Kai finds his pride stung and he sets out to return the phone to its owner. Putting this one down for the moment. It's not working for me and I don't feel any connection to the characters. Attila, the older hero who runs a horse training centre, talks in a pompous, formal sort of way that I guess is supposed to be a symptom of his Aspergers but just struck me as making him sound like an old man. It was very distracting. There was a lot of that, 'the young man', 'the older man' substitution for names. Kai comes across as much younger than his 24 years so when the book ve [...]

"You are above such petty acts of thievery." That one sentence is the driving force behind the first 2/3 of this book. Kai is a homeless city kid who meets Attila when he pick-pockets his cell phone and $60. The guilt overwhelms Kai, and he rides for at least 60 miles through the mountains in hot summer weather to return the phone to its rightful owner. Kai is bolstered through most of the story by Attila's word in an email stating that he is above such petty acts of thievery. Attila runs a hors [...]

Wild horses couldn't drag me away. Wild, wild horses we'll ride them someday.” ~ K.Richards, M. JaggerAttila Keleman is a difficult person to get to know. His mask of cold indifference keeps his contact with people at a minimum. He appears not to care about anything but his horses, but it's a lie. Attila is lonely, but isn't [...]

3.5 StarsReview Summary: A good book with a lot going on, though I didn’t connect as well as I would like. The ReviewWild Horses is the story of a down on his luck, homeless man, Kai, and a prominent horse farm owner, Attila. The two of them meet when Kai steals Attila’s phone, and Attila texts him and convinces him to return it. Kai comes all the way out to Attila’s horse farm where he meets Cayenne, née Vermillion, a stallion that he becomes infatuated with. I loved the juxtaposition of [...]

3 StarsWild Horses is a story revolving around a young man named Kai Alewright. Kai, a tall slender red haired young man from Tennessee, is down on his luck. He loses his job when his company closes, and while he works some part time jobs in the area, it seems many businesses have closed their doors. Kai is left with little options except one; his boyfriend wants him to sell drugs for him. Kai refuses to do that and leaves. His boyfriend keeps all his belongings, including his license and other [...]

Wild Horses by Kate Pavelle kept me interested till the end of this book. I had one, just one wtf moment-with the Attila's "past" activities, but I got over it.The characters were likeable, the plot was ok, the writing too, so I don't have the choice and I need to rate this book 3.5 stars and round it up.

Wild Horses is a story of a young man down on his luck who is given a second chance and to find his self worth. Atilla is an elegant, although somewhat reclusive, horse trainer. He has a fear of large crowds but otherwise seems to function well with his students and small groups. To read the full review please go to:liveyourlifebuythebook.wordpre

I loved this book. The characters were unique and their relationship evolved in a sweet and romantic way. There is a little bit of edge to each character, and a little angst, but nothing too heavy. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Reviewed for Hearts On Fire Reviews - 3 1/2 heartsAfter reading the blurb for this book, I was completely smitten with the premise of the story. One man driven to desperation makes a decision that changes the course of his life after he tries to make amends to the man he wronged, a man struggling with his own issues. Add to that a heavy dose of a favorite four-legged critter and I couldn’t wait to get started. I grew up around horses and this book resurrected a lot of very fond memories for me [...]

5+ Kisses!Wild Horses by Kate Pavelle is a beautifully written romance that showed the true essence of love and friendship. Both heroes will break your heart, fill you with hope, show you the power of forgiveness and believe in finding your true love.I was captivated with Kai and Attila’s story from the first page. I immediately felt for Kai’s plight and understood his desperation to stay alive while living alone and homeless in an unforgiving and uncaring world. When he pickpockets Attila [...]

This is a character-driven book with the horse show world as the background. The characters include not only the riders and owners but the horses themselves. We first meet Kai as a desperate street rat who finally lowers himself to the level of a common thief in order to feed himself. He snatches the wallet and cellphone of a well-dressed man. When Attila, the victim of the crime, texts his own phone requesting its return, with the message, "Remember, you are better than stooping to such acts of [...]

What a wild ride. A feel good, enjoyable read. This is a story about a young man who is down on his luck in life at the moment. He is pushed to the extent of pick pocketing to survive. It’s not like he wants to do it, it’s that he has no other options. He’s in survival mode to get to his next meal. Ever been there? Homeless, no food, eating from a dumpster or scraps from someone’s discarded leftovers? Living on the docks by the water because all the “good spots” were taken? The natur [...]

It was my friend's wonderful review and the description of this book which led me to read it. I am so glad that I did. This tale of the homeless street-rat, Kai, and the older horse trainer, Attila, was truly beautiful. I really adored all the description about the horses, tack, training, etc. and completely fell in love with Cayenne. Actually, I fell in love with both Kai and Attila as they are strong men, each in their own right, but complemented each other wonderfully. To some degree the plot [...]

Absolutely wonderful. The people are real and multidimensional. So many characters and ways the story could go. A little drama, believable angst, and an HEA. The equestrian part of the plot is excellent. I have heard and experienced just about everything they did in the book. Well, except for cantering off on a less than well trained horse, bareback. Not on my bucket list any longer, although at 25, yeah, I would have given half a chance. If you like your romance with a well rounded drama and se [...]

3.5 Stars - I love horses and enjoyed the setting of this story at the horse stables. I like how the relationship between Kai and Attila developed; how Attila wanted a partner and equal and strove to make that so despite their backgrounds. I would have liked a little more in the love scenes - they were very brief encounters. There were a few other niggles that kept this from being rated higher, but overall a good read.

Fictional characters, much like "real" people, sometimes disappoint or aggravate us with their actions or reactions. I loved Attila all awkward around people and with a formal way of speaking. Kia stole my heart - needing love, trust and home. Combined they were great.Wild Horses had a fairy tale quality. If you believe in love, finding someone out of all the billions on this planet, then the fairy tale feel of this won't bother you. Good story that got better as it went on. But first going into it, it was very awkward in its overly formal style of phrasing, use of obscure words, and having the same "voice" for both MC's, who are from very different walks of life. Especially since one, Kai, has a street accent (that mysteriously is lost pretty darn quickly *scratches head and wonders where it could have gotten to*), yet he often doesn't use contractions (like everyone in this book), has a lot of specialized knowledge pretty [...]

WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERSI liked this book in the beginning. It was an interesting writing style and I loved that there was length to it. So many books are one sitting reads now that when I start one that is a slow bloom and character driven I get a little giddy. That being said, I felt this book had more character development regarding the horses than the actual heroes. I wondered several times throughout why Atilla was interested in Kai (and yes, the names of many of the secondary characters a [...]

It started out interesting - a man so low on his luck that he resorts to stealing. A phone call and a plea to return the phone. And thens start to unravel. Kai is amazing with horses. He rides a stallion that no one can tame because, apparently, he is armed with apples and animal charisma. *eye roll* The story plods along unbearably slow at times as Kai and Attila wander through their romance.
