The setting for this novel is perhaps its biggest selling point. It's complex, intriguing, and believable with its many parallels to post-revolutionary France. The characters are likable and the story overall is very enjoyable. My only complaint comes with the ending, which seems to beg a continuation that has not been forthcoming.
