I read the book, 'The Revenge of the Naked Princess' and was really intrigued by it. It is a great historical thriller that describes in a graphic manner the brutality of forced conversions. Well researched, it aptly brings out the environment in the 16th century India, when the Portuguese missionaries and their army went out on a rampage of forced conversions. The characters are amazing and it seems as if the writer was actually present when it all happened, as it all seems uncannily realistic.T [...]

Revenge of the Naked Princess is a wonderful novel. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Not only the story, the characters too are fascinating and very, very interesting and complex. This historical story on forced conversions seems to have been written with lots of research going into the book. This is not a book, however, for weak hearts, because it has macabre descriptions of bloodshed, which I guess were necessary to drive home the point of forced conversions. Dark humour soften [...]

Revenge of the Naked Princess is a historical thriller, but very relevant to our times when there is a growing need for religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence of religions. This novel may be a dark tale on forced conversions, but the message that it conveys -- Let other religions be and don't force your religion or spirituality on others -- is meaningful. It's a dark, brilliant, humorous book and a story that is well-told. A must read for all those who want to know the truth.

A very engrossing book, indeed. My hopes about the book were fulfilled. I loved the book for its dark humour, its brilliant storyline, and well-etched, complex characters that came alive. The protagonist Princess Darshana Kamya Kathodi moves you to tears and you admire her bravery in fighting the invading conversion brigade. Hope to read more books from this author.
