Palms Beach Florida gossip has never been so tantalizing, The feel of the waves and the setting of the book was so refreshing. Lawrence Sanders's writing was so fun and rich with a touch of sass, most characters were playful especiallyArchy McNally , he brought a light wit with his eccentric personality and i freaking loved it.The mystery aspects of the book was odd to me by the first half of the book, but the author manged to bring it together in funny way, I was obsessed with it. It had me thi [...]

I enjoy these very light Archy McNally mysterys that are sprinkled with delicious descriptions of food, fashion and upper class digs . No bad language, descriprions of violence etc. The main characters, Archy, his mom, dad, cook, handiman, police detective, girl friend are all usually present . Easy read

Have you ever gone back to your home town, back to the street where you grew up only to find that the beautiful old house where you spent the best years of your childhood is now a meth house? If you have, you know something of the feeling I got from what little bit of this piece of junk I managed to read. I think I only got to about 15% before I had to either stop reading or seek the advice of a mental health professional.Lawrence Sanders’ McNally books are fun, irrevent, and a perfect way to [...]

Not a bad story (it was my first in the series), but the author's thesaurus must be worn out after using a $5 word every time a 2¢ one would do. Perhaps his use of unnecessary vocabulary is explained in an earlier book in the series.

(view spoiler)[I found this story interesting mostly because of what I think it did wrong rather than what it did right. The plot was fairly interesting, dealing with a woman who convinced three different men that they were the father of her child and essentially blackmailed child support out of all three. But the plot was lost in the background trivia and at least 1 silly subplot. The author tried so hard to be cute and funny that he lost sight of the fact that the book was supposed to be a mys [...]

In Florida, popular romance writer Sabrina Wright hires private investigator Arch McNally to find her missing husband. But Sabrina really has a much different reason for involving Archy. Her daughter Gillian recently learned that her mother who she thought had adopted her is really her biological mother. Gillian seeks her biological dad. When the news leaks out among the rich and richer, three males try to hire Archy to keep a lid on the story. Sabrina had affairs with all three at about the time [...]

McNally Lives On, Even if Sanders Doesn't!Surely y'all know by now that Lawrence Sanders has been dead a couple of years at least, and yet out keep rolling the McNally series. From tiny fine print on the first, to his name on the cover of this one (the third), Vincent Lardo has to us done a very credible job carrying on our leading man for Sanders' estate. (We know one fan who insists Lardo was ghost writing the series even earlier -- could be true for all we know)We have here the familiar trapp [...]

#10 in the Archy McNally series. #3 of 6 entries penned by author Lardo after the death of series creator Lawrence Sanders, who wrote the first 7 series entries.Archy McNally series - Bestselling author Sabrina Wright wants dapper detective Archy McNally to find her husband, who vanished while looking for her MIA daughter--it may seem like a simple case, but McNally knows it's never that easy. Thirty-year-old Gillian Wright ran off to find her birth father, opening a Pandora's box of scandalous [...]

Bestselling author Sabrina Wright wants dapper detective Archy McNally to find her husband, who vanished while looking for her MIA daughter—it may seem like a simple case, but McNally knows it’s never that easy. Thirty-year-old Gillian Wright ran off to find her birth father, opening a Pandora’s box of scandalous revelations the tabloids can’t resist. It seems that Sabrina’s life was a bigger fiction than her bodice-ripping romances. Before her story is over, three powerful men with da [...]

A very well written suspense/thriller. I found this book at a second hand book store. I had never read any of the Archy McNally books before, but I will have to get some more of these. Vincent Lardo is a wonderful author who really knows how to weave a story together!

There is something odd about Vincent Lardo's writing style. I think he dwells too much on describing interiors, the food, the clothes, etc. I had to skim some of these because the lines tend to drag. StillI like Archy and his quirky and fun ways.

I love this series - and find all of them fun - not very deep - but I really like Archy and his family

Another good chapter in the Archy McNally story. Light detective story with a fair share of humor

While Mr. Lardo has taken the Arch McNally series in a bit of a new direction, this and his prior effort has retained the essence of the characters Mr. Sanders created, which I have enjoyed.

I figured it outLardo doesn't have the same jolly spirit as Sanders did and it translate into Archy McNally.

    17. John Grazide on said:

Not my favorite. Some good Archy-isms, but the story was a little weak. Mr. Lardo has picked up on some more Archy and his last story was really well done. But this one, ahh not so much.

Spring Break had long and unintended consequences. While Archy does not resolve the big question, he did manage to solve a confusing murder.

    19. Amy on said:

Archy is a very flamboyant and entertaining character - these make for great summer reads. I have read them all.

Another Archy McNally, funny, glib murder mystery involving the affluentelite in Palm Beach.

Car book. It was poorly edited. McNally is quite a character. Amusing.
